Does anyone have any reviews for, or know about, the 4-DVD set from www.learn-taxidermy.com (World Class Outdoors)? The videos cover WT, Lg Mouth Bass, woodduck, and Squirrel. Thanks!

I bought them a few months back. They are pretty good but a little out of date (thats due to the fact of when they were made--They were probably great at that time). The fleshing part was pretty good on the deer but he is using the Dry Preservative method instead of tanning. Needless to say I was most interested in the Deer DVD. The others were ok as well. I found out early that everybody seems to do things a little different from video to video. I ended up taking some classes with John Griffith out of Kentucky (you can do a search on the web for his website and info or look on this site under Taxidermists in Kentucky) and it made all the difference doing hands on lessons. If your budget and schedule allows its definetly the way to go. Thats just my 2 cents worth.
I bought them and I would fell guilty giving them away!
There are probably very few people that can get the full benefit of watching a video to learn taxidermy right. Like Reg said, if time and budget allow schooling is your best bet. That way you can get some better answers for your questions than hitting rewind. I took the full course at Wegner's School Of Taxidermy in Milton, Wis. I would highly recommend this school to any interested. With small class sizes(one on one for me) you will put out high quality work. If this is too far out of your area, make sure the school you go to is approved by the education approval board or similar state agency. This way if you have any problems you can tell them and they will handle it. I know a couple of people that have just had "Joe Blow" teach them and basically get ripped off. Not saying everyone will do that but, the EAB is a good thing to have around. Whatever you do make sure you do your reasearch. Don't pick a school because they been around the longest or are the cheapest, they many have hidden costs or don't offer the latest techniques. So if interested try looking at www.wegnersschooloftaxidermy.com and get a catolog or talk to Ron.
