Help with remembering taxidermist

Discussion in 'The Taxidermy Industry' started by buckfever*, Feb 3, 2018.

  1. A question for the people that’s been at taxidermy a longgggg Time.
I have been trying to remember a taxidermist name. I’m guessing he is probably in taxidermy heaven by now/ unknown. In the late 80’s early 90’s guessing he was around 50/55 Year’s of age. I believe his shop was in Mississippi maybe Alabama. He mounted a extremely large amount of fish. He did seminars I know for the southern regional show as Louisiana and sure others. I believe his first name was Dick. That’s about all I Can remember in information.

I’m just trying to remember his name. I was about 21 /23 Year’s old watching his seminar at the North East Louisiana show ( that no longer exists) painting a Lg mouth bass, around 1985. He used carbon paper to do the belly spots. I have been doing this way ever since. The post in beginners about belly spots painting , has had me racking my brain trying to remember his name. Anyone have a clue?. I may be wrong but I still think his first name was Dick

Dick Spencer. I have some of his old fish mounting videos. I believe I read somewhere that Drew Turner, a former employee, now owns his shop.
