I'm going on about 4 years of calls from Google asking me to claim and verify my website or no one will be able to find it. I can be having the greatest day and get this call and instantly turn into a crazed man. These people work me up so much that I scream obscenities into the phone and have been known to throw phones and break them. Then I'll turn around and get a call from "Veronica from Credit Card services of America", then lower your interest rates on your credit card now, then daily health care insurance calls, all of which there is a smart ass Arab on the other end of the line just waiting to hang up on you. All of these calls are coming in under local names so I answer the phone every time as a professional only to be let down and instantly on fire. My wife says I need therapy. I'm just so over walking away from work and family to listen to these guys repetitive scam pitch. I use to be excited when the phone rang now I don't even feel like picking it up. Can anyone relate?

Very much so, the funny thing is none of them work for google, they just use that as a sales scam. Every now and again I get bored when I'm in a pissy mood and answer their calls and talk to the jackwagon on the other end. I can say that they always hang up on me. I hope it's not something I said? LOL It just may be, I'm not sure. In this day of class action law suits one should be filed against these aholes. They've cost me plenty of nitrile gloves and production time over the years and going by your post and other's, I'm not alone.

I use to get tons of Robo calls and it irritated the crap out of me. I guess I still do according to my Caller ID - lol. I solved the problem by not answering my phone anymore! I set up my cell business phone so it only rings for people I know. And my business landline I turned off the ringer totally. I figured the real people will leave a message if they want me to do their fish. Most people understand the RoboCall problem these days and at least shut the ringer off on their cells. Society is getting use to leaving messages. I'm sure I lose a potential customer or two, but I don't care! I still get plenty of work and my mood is much better. Try it!

Get a truck air horn and blow it in the phone. They’ll be pissing their pants when their eardrum blows out. Those headsets really amplify sound.

Depending on how I felt that day...When I had my electronics service business I kept a whistle near the phone and I would blow it into the receiver as loud as I could. I bet that kept their ears ringing for a while.

IRS calls, those were fun! I would tell them to send the sheriff. I am ready to go to jail where I don't have to pay for food, housing or medical expenses. Or, sometimes I would give them one of my expired credit card numbers so they thought they had me only to find out later it was invalid. But these days, if I don't recognize the number I just let it ring and the answering machine picks it up.

i get them often. They are relentless. I block a number, they use another.

I'm confused by their offer tho. It's been awhile since I listened to the whole spiel, but I think it was $400/yr to Guarantee I come up on the first page of a search.

There's 25 spots and many of us doing the same work. How can they Guarantee everyone will come upon the first page??

I did score another client recently solely from our website. That makes 2 in 8 yrs.
The first one has paid for the website 1000 times over, so it's still a great return on the investment.

We kept track one day, we had 9 "google" calls, and 4 no answer on the other line.

My caller ID shows unavailable 97% of the time. I lift the receiver and set it down. No longer feel bad about hanging up on a computer. Realizing that the entire country is besieged by this problem, maybe some communications company could do something about it. I am considering doing away with my land line completely.

Seems when you answer one, it starts a multiplying process that day. If you can avoid the first one, the phone is quiet for a while. I hate 'em. My voice mail states that if you are from outside my area code, leave a message due to the number of telemarketer calls I receive. I will promptly return your call. Thanks, and have a great day.

The problem is they spoof local numbers to get you to pick up and stop from getting reported to "Do not call." (Not that this does any good anyways; they get flooded with so many complaints they can't possibly deal with even one percent of them). Which all this brings to mind another question, if the police department can see any number (and the correct number that is calling them, not a spoof number) why won't the phone company implement that for their customers?

Last week a co worker got a call from his own number. It was a robo call.

only about 3X per day. I have blocked a minimum (not exaggerating) of over 1000 numbers to no avail. It’s relentless and ridiculous.
