What Do You Charge For A Deer Head

For one I haven’t hammered anyone over what they charge for anything, that’s completely up to them . As I stated if your happy that’s all that counts , so don’t come down on me for trying to help some out by pointing out you can get more for what you do . My bird guy does only sub work and he is and award winning taxidermist at all levels. I would pay whatever he charged for his work and would pass the increase along to my clients. I also tell my clients I sub there birds out as I’m not going to take credit for something I didn’t do. Seems to me like your the one that has the most to say on everything that gets stated , you must not be to happy with what your doing or getting for your mounts, as I stated way back , I’m not preaching just trying to help the part timers know there worth to go full time . To let them know what is involved in business. You are the one that always has something to say bout everything. If your so happy with your way of doing it , then shut up , none of this will help or effect you . Seems like your set in your way , are close minded and know it all . If I’ve learned anything in my 57 years of life it’s I can learn something from everyone everyday , you just have to listen to others , take and retain the things you can use and that effects you and don’t argue over the things that don’t . Just don’t be afraid to listen to someone that maybe able to teach you something. I’ve learned somethings from this thread , it’s a conversation to help , not to argue and disagree or atack anyone , you do you and I’ll do me . You state what works for you and I’ll do what works for me . I could be wrong but I don’t recall seeing any pics of your commercial mount . You have a great day

 

Good post , but very low labor cost and profit margin, they even say that . I also watched the caping out video, I disagree on a lot on that . #1 that is skinning, caping out is removing the cape from the skull and such .#2 when he cut up the legs, he should have stayed dead center of the white and brown hair peak all the way back , it looked like he was more in the white . On today’s forms if you cut in the white to far you won’t have enough in the brisket area , it will come up short . #3 I hate it when they leave a ton of meat on the hide/cape to include the Neck meat , he should have gone to back of skull and popped the joint .
