I recently read a post that Montana Cape and Fur is out of business. Is the company doing anything to repay orders. Or am I sol?

Well I have an email ready to send the PRICK. In the past we did some business and I was happy. I was getting him some nice capes from my butcher. He would tan one of my capes even up for one cape for him, worked out fine. Two years with only minor shaving problems. I told him I hated the sawdust, he said don't worry I turn and clean all saw dust out. Last year I got a load of capes with ears full and some blown out. I did not say anything.
This year it was a FN mess. First I only save decent capes nothing under 17 inches. I had a few customers give me their capes and cash for exchange for a skull mount. So I had some good ones. Well the whole deal became a mess when I received my capes. First I should of owed him about 600/700 hundred dollars not 1100.00. 2nd the shipping was 181.00 ripoff. When capes arrived in the 90 degree heat maybe 130 degrees in the UPS truck, the box was destroyed from leaking bags, box soaking wet, one end completely open and couple capes missing, got 9 capes not 11. All capes were shipped dripping wet,the water in the bags were hot, I looked them over immediately. In 35 years of dealing with tanneries never have I got a soaking wet cape. They have all been tumbled dry, damp but dry. First cape out, slipping it's ass off, big time white spots, loss of hair all over. He knew it was slipping big time when he bagged it but still charged me 100.00. 5 more capes out and all had loose hair, you will not be able to pull on the capes at all to work with. Luckily those loose hair capes where personal. If he would of tumbled the capes like he always has done in the past they would of weighed half as much and shipping would of been half the amount. I had twice as many capes last year and shipping was about 75.00 less with a little UPS discount.
If they were handled properly I would not of had any slipping capes, no curly reverse hairs just hair falling out. I assure you not any fault due to me. Skinned and frozen immediately. Probably left out to long to thaw when he received or something. They were fresh capes.
I shipped all the capes in 4 HD boxes 2nd day air UPS and not even close to 181.00. When I called him to tell him about the problems (soaking wet open box with two capes missing) he never responded, he knew exactly what he did. He also told me that two capes I sent him were both less than 12 inch necks, absolutely 100% impossible. With that he said we can't do what we did in the past, (trade-off). With him having all my capes I couldn't argue with him, if they were all personal capes I would of said go pack sand and save my self $1300.00. Couldn't do that a couple were paying customers capes.
I can't remember any 12 inch necks that I have ever skinned. Most adult does have bigger necks than that. He said he can buy bigger capes for 25.00. So I hope he is out of business and hopefully lost his ass.

Probably not going to comfort you guys that are waiting on capes or money but back when I dealt Jody he was a stand up guy. I do know he’s had serious health related issues lately and hopefully he will make it right with all of you when he’s back on his feet.

Yep I knew it...The POS cost me quite a few heart aches. I thought he was such a nice guy too. HE pulled some chit on me I hate to even think about. Hopefully he is for real out of business so he doesn't screw others. I also hope a few take him to the cleaners.
