Hello all, I am new to the trade and the forum. I have a customer that brought me his ostrich dried feet and requested them to be softened up. What is the best way to make them playable or soft?

    thanks,
    Leonard

The question becomes this. Are they tanned or not. Then we can go from there

Good Afternoon Mister Frank, thank you for your reply. They look like they are just dried with salt. I don't smell and chemicals or detergent/borax on them. whatcha thinking?

Ok they can be hydrated in plain water but I would probably add enzol-B to it . It’ll aid in hydration or use some other products that are on the market.
From there, pickle, neutralize, tan and oil. Then when close to dry 85% break the skin to soften it up. You’ll probably lose the scales on them , so you know.
