Attaching Deer Euro To Plaque?

That's a question that's never been asked here! Seriously, search the archives. There's a ton of info on that topic.

 

I drill a small hole just under the ball sockets of the skull where the spine hole is , it’s a thickest spot the skull . I run a 2 inch drywall screw thru plaque and into that small hole I drilled it will thread it’s way thru and is for the most part hidden underneath.

 

Try different search terms and words. Mounting Skull to Plaque would be a good starter. There are also different settings in the search you can play with to change your results. I tried that search and got over 20 pages of threads. Make sure you uncheck (search this forum only).

This is how we do all of ours, except we use a #8 or #10 wood screw.

 

Michael P had one of the best methods IN MY OPINION. He routed out a hole back in the soft palate. He drilled a 3/4 by 1 1/2 slat with a 5/8 inch hole in the end. Then he filled the brain cavity with Bondo and sunk the slat into the Bondo with the drilled end which allowed the Bondo to lock the slat in. Once cured, he set the skull down on a flat board with a 2 inch hole allowing the slat to go through. With a pencil, he marked a line on the slat where the it went through . He cut the slat along this line. This allowed him to paint or stain the slat. Now you set your skull on the panel, mark where the slat sets and mark it. Run your screw up though the panel into the slat. I liked the very clean results but that's just me.

 

As I believe that would be a very sturdy solid way that is a lot work to do to secure a skull . When a #8 2inch dry wall screw takes mins . But that’s just my opinion and you know what they say bout that . Lol , I will say this tho if it’s a bigger skull like elk or moose I use a butterfly (wall ) anchor system. In the same area of skull , That works awesome.
