Case Skinning Tutorial (pic Heavy)

First I wet down and separate an area in between the legs with water l.Some go all the way to the leg and around,I stop my incision just into the drum stick.Make sure the incision is wide enough or you will fight like hell to get the skin over the body,or even rip the skin trying to pull it over! Work around as much area as you can from this point,you should be able to skin down just past the pelvic bones and up the chest a bit,this will expose the legs better for you. Next,sever the leg at the joint and remove the tendons and meat. Reinvert the leg and wet the area where you will separate the feet at the feather line,makes it a little easier to see.(if you take the feet off) To skin down to the tail quills I use slight pressure with my thumb to hold the skin down,Cit the quills and continue slimming down the back. Continue skinning to the wing joint,once you get there use your thumb and forefinger to pinch where the bone attatches to the shoulder.Pick up slightly to put a little tension on the areaand cut the joint free,with that little bit of pressure it will pop right out

 

Once you get the first wing released it opens up nicely,I lay the bird flat and do the other wing. My fingers haven’t moved,this is where I pinch it off to make my cut. After that it’s just getting the neck out,inverting the wings,and removing the oil glands.Once I start mounting I’ll post how I put them together.Hope this helps some of you,
