Elk Nostril Reference

As the title mentions, does anyone have good clear reference pics of elk nostrils that they would be willing to share. I've been perusing the internet but not finding any clear pics. I prefer to cut the nose off the form and carve my nostrils from the back and then reinstall.

Believe it or not but it the same as a deer just bigger . I’ve taken blue in masters using that method.

That's how I did my last elk, I was guessing they were similar but I always strive to do better on the next one.

I gotcha, the interior lobes if that’s what there called lol are just a little fuller and has more arch if that makes sense and in color they aren’t as fleshy pink . Good luck in your search.

I cut the muzzle off an elk that was brought in for an antler mount and had it freeze dried.

Thank you, helpful. As you know here in MN we don't get many fresh whole elk heads to look at or study.

Just a reminder as I know , you know this . But the opening of the nostrils will be different with whatever the attitude of the mount is representing .
