I’ll go first. This is roughly average for my level of messiness

 

Truth be told, I have actually transitioned away from the farm a fair amount... I was going there every day.... then last winter we changed the feeding schedule to where I only had to feed every 3rd day (during summer we split the heard out to pasture between the homeplace and 2 satilite farms)... This year Dad is feeding and my duties consist of "special" tasks of chopping silage, moving cattle and roundbales from the satellites home and working cattle (weening and castrating/dehorning/vet duties). I am still "on call" for emergencies and special projects like fencing and mechanical and facilities maintenance as my father has finally admitted that I am a more capable mechanic and carpenter, and also covering all responsibilities when him and mom take another one of their damn trips (in the last 18 months theyve been to peru, france and germany, texas, and colorado, plus a bunch of weekend trips to nashville and northern ky to see my sisters fams).

I still gotta "pay my rent" every month, as I live in the old farmhouse on one of the satellites.... reminding me that I am not a partner in the operation, but an employee.... or more accurately an indentured servant.... except indentured servatude came with conditions for release after a set number of years (something about 40 acres and a mule I believe) .... so the most accurate description of my current socio-economic situation is that of a very priveledged slave (who raids his masters house everytime he needs toilet paper or there isnt anything good to eat at his own home and regularly dumps his kids on the masters porch unannounced and quickly drives away).

 

the taller butcher block behind my desk is semi mobile as well as one of my mounting stands (i pretty much only use the other one for pictures so its always outside) my big mechanics tool tray and the roll around stand my black n decker workmate is mounted on. I understand the attaction of versatility from mobility

 

yeah my house is full, theres a deer in my 6 year old daughters room (its a 30 year old remount that looks like sh!t lol), a triceritops in our dining room, musky in our kitchen, and a deer in the bathroom. And those are just the notables, there are more.

I do however find it highly suspicious you havent lost any of those screwdrivers yet tho

 

myu good friends dad is a taxidermist in florida full time and he operates out of a 10'x12' shop.... totally blew my mind
