    So maybe airbrush the epoxy with white acrylic? Then stain with oil wash and then seal?

    At this point I would paint The whole rack and start from there. Or if your pretty good with paint touch up the grey area to blend in...

    I was given advice once to freeze deer hides in DA so they could be instantly thawed… and it shrunk and drew up before I even mounted it...

    Y Yes especially lacquer base paint. But if your using waterbase try doing a light coat of matte gloss to give it something to adhere to.
