roman nose deer finished

  1. Here is the roman nosed deer that I had gotten in. Finished it today. What do you think? Any and all comments welcome. Pictures are of the deer before I skinned it, after I skinned it and a finished picture. Thanks' Curtis

    Nice, a deer crossed with an ant eater. Looks good. Maybe the arch could have carried a little further up but looks darn close. Nice job. WCL

    Yeah its not like it was an old deer either. Just goofy deformaty. WCL

    i think the nose is too long.

  9. you surely captured "his" look. good job.
    I mounted a buck two years ago that was nicknamed " Snuffy" he looked just like thatbut he didn't want it to be quite so drastic but still wanted to roman nose.

  15. I have mounted plenty of deer with a roman nose and none looked like that. That deer looks deformed. But you nailed it. Great job Curtis!

  19. I just got back from the world show and checked on here. Thank you all for the comments. If you missed the world show I can only say this" WOW" very impressive work by many talented artist. My hat goes off to every one that competed. I am also very impressed and proud at the number of Michigan members that I saw and talked to at the show. Makes me happy to be a new board member of the MTA. If you have the chance to go next time go you will not regret it.

    did ya save the skull to show the deformity...would be neat to mount the deer, then have the skull along with it to show why it looked like that.....of course, you'd have to figure out what to do with the part where ya cut the antlers off...?
