What is the quickest way to tan this bear in a matter of days? Kwotann, but good luck degreasing.

Would it hurt the mount later on if it was just Dry preserved? Yes, and besides DP is not a tan, and your customer requested it to be tanned.

I live in a area where if you don't know the right people you have to Drive to the next county to get a Job that Pays over minimum wage . I have the same old boys call all the time and ask for a Price . And I am over 300.00 on a deer head . and they say that's to high . I tell them well don't try to Jockey with me and waist My time as they always do .I have gotten several call "can you fix My deer " and I tell them Hell No If you would have paid And I'm not just talking about me , A good Taxidermist to have done it in the fist place you would be OK . I will help you as will every one ells on here if you let Us . I also advertise in areas where people make more money . Most of my business comes from other county's. I do not DP nothing but Birds and If its Bigger than a game head ,You can Bet I will say Let me sharpen My pencil and I will call you Back . and I will Find a Respectable tannery Because I am not equip to take on such a large job ,and I will figure shipping tanning cost hours Forms .and other materials . Then I tell them here it is Take it or leave it . If they want it mounted bad enough they will pay. But don't let them make you pay . I use to do things to cheep to get My name out . By the time he gets it, you will be doing it free for him. That is tight.

You would make out 10 times by doing that then DP'ing this bear or breaking even on such a hard job. Look at yourself in the mirror & ask yourself what YOU are worth, not what anybody else "thinks" you or your work are worth. You sound boisterous, do not be that way only on the internet, be that way with those that try to screw you around in life which is exactly what this man is doing!

 

Actually it is your mistake. You quoted the price and didn't even know how to tan it or how much that might cost. I think everyone does that at least once. So now you can call and raise the price ( kind of unprofessional) or just wing it and try to tan it yourself(very unprofessional) also you have a time issue. The only way to do a good job is to enjoy what you are doing ,I think you have prevented yourself from doing that on this one. Live and learn, better luck next time.
