Looking for a good flathead cat repro

I have a customer who is wanting a replica of a 44 x 28 flathead catfish. Archie Phillips and Matt Thompson have one close. My client doesn't seem to mind paying for a good quality blank with good mouth detail. I'm looking for an open mouth, closed gills blank. I'm going to be researching some sites but would like to hear from anybody who has seen or used a particular blank.

  2. Man I'm currently re-doing an Archie blue cat for a customer and it is rough. The first taxidermist that did it just plain didn't know a thing about fish or repros. Lake Country has a 44" X 28". You can't go wrong with them. ;)

I'm going to call Starfish tomorrow.

The Lake Country repros are big $$ but look good. That is probably the direction I'm headed as long as the customer doesn't mind spending the $$.

  5. They are more money but the prep time is less than 1/3 of others. So I see it as, pay more but way less work. Just my opinion.
