That's the damnedest thing I've ever seen. You know it wasn't the same arrow that did it. I suspect TWO archers were involved in this guys problems. Amazing. Thanks for sharing.

 

George, I was thinkin the deer was standin broadside with his ears back and the arrow went through both of them. That was just the picture I had in my head.

 

The bruising around one ear implied TO ME that one wound was more current. And quite honestly, I don't know how a buck could hold his ears to have a single arrow penetrate both without contacting one or both antlers in the process. Notice: BOTH ears are center punched.

 

He's got character.

 

I think George is right. Don't want to say a deer can't do it, but the fact that they are center punched says Goerge is right!

Yeah that looks pretty wild I mounted one 2 years ago that had one ear blown to bits because of a bullet to the antlers.

 

I've had two like that this year, I'm mounting one in the morning. When my son killed his first deer the little guy jumped the string and spun around and his first arrow got the ear. he jumped two steps and stopped the second arrow put him down.

 

i'm kinda thinking it was one arrow with his ears back. it just looks like the holes line up and if someone shoots a deer in the ear twice, that's pretty bad

 

It's simple enough to prove the possibility. Mount it and see where the ears would have had to be for an arrow to pass both of them dead center like that.

 

I agree with George, they look to be hit dead center but it could be just the picture and how they are laying. I see your point in what would be the odds of that happening twice?

 

Thats crazy. I got one in this year that had a slug hole thru one ear and then there was a slug and the wad with it in front of the ear tucked up under the antler burr just under the skin, It didnt hurt the skull or burr at all. Got another little 6 pt. basket in that was shot just above the eyes and was in the brain cavity. 90 grain Muzzy. He wants him mounted heads up with arrow sticking out his forehead. the deer also had a 2" overbite as well. he wants that left like that also. Wish I would have taken pictures.
