Hello to all and I am sorry that this is a little late. I have had a student here in the shop and just have not had time to post. This week Tim Martin from Maryland came down and we have been talking turkeys all week. He Just left my shop headed home and hopefully with some new knowledge of turkeys. I have truly been blessed to meet some great people over the past couple of years and I hope that will continue. This site has been responsible for alot of new friendships and I just hope that I can continue to help in the future. I am sure that most of you are deer hunting or getting ready to. Hopefully everone will have a great season and take in alot of work. I am posting a picture of the turkey Tim and I mounted this week. It is not completely done but wanted to post to show what we did this week. We spent the first day talking and setting up the body and then the second day putting the bird together. Then today we painted and went over how to paint legs and heads. The Head on this bird is not finished.

Thanks to all who post pictures and please keep them coming. I know everyone is busy with deer but if you get time post us a turkey to look at.

Thanks again and If I can help in any way please call me or sen me a pm.

Here is what has been going on last week in the shop. Mounted up 2 birds that had some major shot damage. Here are some pics of before and after, with a lot of patience anything can be fixed...click on thumbnail to enlarge pictures. Working on a strutting bird that is kicking my butt, by tomorrow end it will be strutting :)

Here is my FIRST tom! Nothing to brag about but I did it on my own and figured out most of my mistakes. The next one will only get better. I still need to put it on some habitat which I will hopefully start on this weekend.

The panel is Ziricote wood, harvested from the same jungle that the ocellated comes from.
