    Hi all

Just shot this guy last week and thought he looked pretty cool. He's not the biggest goose in the world, but should make for a good mount for my personal collection. The white bar stretching from one eye to the other is much more solid than the pictures show...the 30mph winds we hunted moved some head feathers around. Anyways, is this a genitic trait? What are some other genitic traits have you have come accross? Sorry for the crappy pics. It's obvious I didn't get a new camera for Christmas.

I have been a waterfowl hunter all my life and have seen this on several geese...usually even more pronounced than that..Probably not real common, but not extremely rare either..Usually has shown up on lesser canadas more so than regular, or greaters...Nice goose..

Its just genetics! Although there could have be something odd cross in the mix I see different things like this all the time . Those are the birds that are picked out. How many are simply put in the pile and breasted out? This year I got 2 different birds in that have white wings on their breast. And one bird that has mottled feet and pink toes.

That's pretty cool. Although it isn't common nor rare, I seem to like birds that have character.

  6. I'm not sure why there is such a current hype over genetic freaks. My preference is for birds that are the best example of their species.
