Black Bear Cub Mount

Discussion in 'Lifesize Mammals' started by Joe K., Jan 16, 2011.

  1. I have a customer that I am doing a cub mount for. He left it up to me at to what pose to do. I'm not sure what I want to do. I am looking for some input as to what you guys/gals have done in the past or some pics.

    Thanks

We have a badger to do for a customer that he's is leaving it up to us. I am looking through photos of live badgers to get inspiration for a pose. It's nice to get motivated by seeing what other people do but interpret your piece from the real thing. Good luck!!

For the bear cub I would choose a playful pose. Something to bring an expression of "glad to be here" or "what's this new thing I've discovered", maybe laying on its back with a branch pulled down to its nose or something. Maybe looking into a hollow log (curiosity) would be a great look. Just my 2 cents. Good luck with it. I'd love to see it when complete.

  4. I like the idea of a cub sitting on it's butt, playing with something. It's just the image in my mind when I think of bear cubs.

  5. I have a artificial butterfly that I was thinking of using with it. Maybe on a flower or something like that. Great ideas so far.

locate a form with similar measurements first and alter to your liking. playful is nice!

You are limited by the choice of forms available AND how much they can be altered. coonhollow gave you the correct advise.....find the right size form FIRST!

I would chose either innocence or play.
