I am taking my kids this weekend for our annual porcupine hunt. We live only on hour from Canada and it's been in the negatives at night so these will be very prime Montana porcupines. Before I pluck all the hair off I was going to see if anyone was interested in any. I will sell them in three ways. Whole, skinned green, and wet tanned. Here are the prices for the average size ones.

    Whole frozen $49 plus shipping

    Skinned frozen $69 plus shipping

Skinned, split, turned, salted, pickled, and tanned $139 plus shipping

All I heve left are 4 tanned ones. Don't miss this. Once they're gone they're gone. No more until next year.

Send me a pm or email bigrackstaxandtan@hotmail.com if you need anything. I will put you on a list and send a message with what I have. We take paypal, credit card, money order and check.

Thanks for looking and have a great day, Jody

JUST TO LET EVERYONE KNOW, I DIDN'T WANT THESE THINGS SITTING AROUND SO WE WENT AHEAD AND SKINNED THEM ALL. ALL ARE SPLIT, TURNED, SALTED AND IN THE PICKLE NOW SO ALL THAT IS LEFT ARE TANNED ONES. HAVE ABOUT SEVEN LEFT. THANKS FOR LOOKING.

split turned salted picked and tanned that is a great deal. I`ve skinned a good many, and just that part is not easy. I always thought, man, I`d hate to flesh and prep these things. they are like wet toilet paper, so delicate, and would have to be fleshed by hand knife, no draw knives.

HI Fred, That would be a HUGE porky. My biggest weighed 29 lbs. and it would not be anywhere close to that size. Sorry, good luck. I would like to see it if you find one. Jody

Hunting them is actually kinda fun. You won't believe how fast they are when they hit the ground. Those little buggers are fast. If you come up on one it will turn and run at you. We usually find them feeding in the trees. If you're ever in this part let me know and I'll take you.

I am the only person I think in the world who ever accidentally on purpose tripped and fell on a porcupine while hunting them, I pulled over 400 quills from my leg with my bare hands. Now I have a fear of porcupines.LOL

My girls are only four and five and they love to go get these things. 75% from what we make from these goes into their savings accounts and the other 25% is theres to spend on whatever they want. It's a great thing for them. And heck, all they do is shoot them. It's up to me to skin.

I still have some sitting in the pickle waiting to be tanned as soon as they sell. If you need one let me know. Thanks, Jody

Wow, I would have never guessed them to be a fragile skinned animal. I shot one with my bow one time and it sounded like a shotgun going off with very little penatration with a 65 pound draw weight. I have never skinned one but I will take your word for it haha.
