I am feeling anticipation, I would think they are pretty far South of me as its -35c here with a wind chill of -50c and 4 feet of snow, but I am waiting LOL.

I've been watching the snow line through the weather service's website, http://www.nohrsc.noaa.gov/nsa/ . Unless some were trapped in central IA to east central NE, I'd say the last snow down there pushed them back to southern MO and KS. It looks possible, with the current snow depths, that they might get held up from about Huron south for awhile once the snow starts to melt.

A few years ago, getting many reports a day, through the whole migration, was the norm. Now, you're lucky to get one good one a week.

It seems every year or two I have to find new websites to get wide ranging migration info. I just found this one. http://www.huntthenorth.com/springsnowreport.html#Nebraskasnow

  15. Im a guide down here in katy texas, we still have a few hundred thousand that roost and feed on our property. Our season ends in march and I have never seen them stay this long. Good luck up north.

I'm in Kansas and they are rolling through right now. I've already had multiple snow hunts this year that turned out great. Freezer just got a little smaller...

Don't pack your bags for SD yet. In NE South Dakota we still have +3 ft of ice and +15 ft snow drifts. We usually start shooting them towards the end of March but it might be later this year. It's 4 below here today plus wind chill.

  18. I finally saw a small flock yesterday. Still have ice everywhere and high temps below freezing with more snow coming next week so I wouldn't expect any geese in extreme southern SD any time soon.

  19. just came back from Arkansas this past Saturday. Saw thousands migrating north.
