I know what you mean michael !! Usually down here in the Houston area we have a little more time but the other evening after mounting a deer I didn't bag the face and couldn't move anything the next afternoon. Had to put a wet dishrag on it and bag it to soften it back up YIKES what's going on this year with the weather!!

Tonight I followed my friend Kerby Ross' advice (the same one who made the wonderful cactus casts) and instead of wasting time mixing and trying to blend paints for a real good cactus color he told me "just take your live reference (the actual cactus) to Home Depot, have them put it on the paint scanner and match your EXACT color :)

    So off I went........

Had the lady at the paint counter scan the cactus.............

    and BAM....an exact match :)

I'll sand it down, prime, thin the paint for my airbrush and knock it out Wednesday. Well I guess this is it till Wednesday, I got those 4 pheasants to mount until Wednesday afternoon when I start finishing, see ya then :)
