Did that fox just eat a yellow belly porcupine? If you make your lip slot really tight you won't need pins. The less mechanical fasteners the more natural it will look. Use paint brushes to adjust eyes and nose for a " softer look". Looks good, keep it up

  3. thank i will keep it i mind.

  4. He looks pudgy - this isn't a bad thing - I actually like it. Was this a ranch fox or wild? Is it younger? I'm wondering if it's the length of the legs that this throwing off my perspective. He's cute though - maybe post a close up of the face so we can take a better look?

Trixie, you're right, he is a pretty cute and looks like a juvenile/pup, but the photo may make him look that way.

Take him outside and take a photo of him outside in natural sunlight.
Right now, the photos are a bit blurry and something about his ears and eyes needs work.
His nose looks short, but it could be due to the photo quality.

It's pretty good for someone jumping in not so long ago :) keep at it!

Watch the black stripe down the tail...it should run perfectly straight following the top of the tail...this one starts to roll toward the end...you could also put a slight curve in the tail (reference)...front right leg looks "pudgy". Looks like a black ring around the front left ankle, this could be fixed by pulling the skin up a little more. X100 on the pins, tight lip slot and no need of pins!

*DISCLAIMER* I am actually fairly new to taxidermy too and probably am not the best person to give advice...I thought I would write down a few of the things I noticed to see if I'm on target and learn something from your feedback on my critique at the same time.

Good job for just starting out!
