I've always been curious about this. Hope this is the right place to ask.

If I own a raccoon skull (for example), and later the raccoon is put on a protected/endangered list where it becomes illegal to own its skull, do I have to get rid of the skull or is there some way I can legally keep it? I just wonder what you're supposed to do in a situation like that, though I assume you'd have to get rid of it since there's no proof you had it before it became banned.

timwilly I lost my agenda !!!

you would have to be able to prove it was preban. There's still elephant ivory in this country.

new2thegame, I'm sure he was referring to an item that has already been banned and was using the raccoon skull as an example. I think his future has already happenned in this instance.

seems like the burden of proof should be put on the accuser, not the accused. They should have to prove it's NOT preban, instead of you having to be defensive.but it is the government,so who knows?
