A few I recently finished up..... The first is on a McKenzie 9700, the second on a 9600 and was a set of sheds from last year mounted on a VanDykes antler mount system, and the third on a Meder full sneak offset.

I am about half way done with a competition piece involving a bobcat caught in a trap confronted by a coyote. This is my first large habitat, and I am trying to duplicate the pine woods here in NC. The bobcat is drying, and I haven't done any painting or finish work. Pardon the poor pictures.....too big to move to a better background by myself.

More things that have been keeping me busy:

A tiger's face framed in the shape of a butterfly, Pencil drawing. This was a tattoo design commission.

My doe mount is driving me crazy. I'm trying to get the ear position estimated before I get ready to work on the mount. These are ears back earliners, so I need them to be positioned back. I love the ear set on this reference pic. That's what I'm trying to recreate but I need more angles of a live deer like this to pull this off right.

  13. Finished last week. It was my first pedestal. He was caped a little too short for it, but I think it turned out OK.
This week I'm working on: An otter, an antelope doe, and a whitetail mooing. Sorry if my pictures are too big.

Mdupertuis, very nice mount. However, don't most competitions have rules against animals cought in traps? I hope the one your going to doesn't; it is a great scene.

I had never heard about that rule.....but thanks for the heads up, I will contact them and be sure.

I saw it in some rulebook... but I'm not sure what show it was. If all else fails, you could just take off the trap, and add a dead carcas that the bobcat is gaurding, or something...

My first buck with a muzzaloader

Not a monster but my family and I called this buck limpy. we seen him several times during bow season but passed him up. He must have injured himself because his front right hoove was all messed up and he "limped".... So my 6 year old son were out with the thompson center Omega one day after he got out of kindergarted and we spotted a pig. We snuck up and got him... while we were leaving our hunting area limpy walked right out in the open about 30 yards. We got down, he walked to about 15 yards broadside (left to right), I hammered him, I always thought the guy was a 8 point, never really seen his left side. Until I walked up on him. 4 on the right and a long spike on the left. Unique deer, I finished him a couple days ago.

    Thanks
