Alligator Skull

    Hey everyone....

    Ok I'm doing my first alligator anything. But it is a skull mount, my question is what is the best way to remove the skin, flesh the best possible and boil, or is there a better way?

    I macerate mine, but will be trying my next ones with battles!

    Most of mine were about 3 weeks, I never removed them until they were nearly clean then washed the rest off! I did remove what I could, like eyes and all the meat around the lower jaw!

    They clean really easy by simmering....less time, no stinky aroma. When the gums are cooked enough to remove the teeth, extract them one by one and place in containers so you can easily re-insert them. Each tooth will need to be blown out with compressed air. A pressure washer assist in removing every morsel of cooked meat off the skull.

    People fail to realize that behind some of the teeth in a gator is another tooth that is growing so it will be replaced. Yes this is even found on big 10 to 12 foot gators not just baby gators. Dan
