Pretty wild ohio 11pt.... question about antler burr

  1. Got this buck in last week, the burr on the right antler about center of the skull plate is non existent. First one i have seen like this. I assume just glue the hide down? tips are appreciated
    anyone have a guess at what this guy scores?

  2. Glue it is probably all you can do.tack some small nails in it till dry. Good luck

    Depending on client, he could opt to have the rosette built back in, or the other suggestions are the way to go.

  5. Yea i figured glueing and nails was the way to go, and the client wants it that way... thankfully!
     
  6. No nails needed just glue it. After day 2 lift it back up and use super glue and done.

    How about taking a dremel and cutting away a shallow slot around that part of the crown so that the hide can lay down in it, then glue it good? Maybe that would be an option and wouldn't take a lot of time or effort.

    I do several a year that dont have a burr. Just glue it and forget it.

    yep, no need for nails,, really, just glue it and forget it. I would thin the burr skin in that spot .

    Yep, no nails should be needed. I get alot of those in like that and that is the reason I use apoxie paste. Once the skin is in place, you can forget about it moving.
