Anyone have anything like this available? I'm not even sure what kind of goat it is but I would like to find one suitable for a shoulder mount if possible, does not have to be black but prefer solid colored

How much should something like this run$$$

No...should I be worried about that? Never mounted any type of goat before but I had two goats as a kid and they smelled fine like barnyard and lanolin.

  8. There just stinky because they have sent glands in their forehead. Lots of shampoo will solve your problem.

My goats were both female, one Nubian and one alpine both Pygmy cross so they smelled okay ;)

Shasta, If you get an "active" aged billy, YOU WILL NEVER remove all the smell. When the humidity in your house rises, you will smell him thru the walls. I'll look if I have one in the freezer. You need the cape and horns ? Blue Sky, Steve

Hummm perhaps this is something I should discuss with my client? There is not an effective way to deodorize available?

  14. I wonder if you could get one that was killed during a time of year where it wasn't in Rut? They are much worse in rut; so much so that owners have to wear only specific clothing to deal with them, because the smell is that bad. They also pee in their own coats, to store the scent and be more attractive to females. (aren't you glad that our men don't do that, ladies? lol!)

I wonder if you could use a female goat skin, of a breed whose females grow horns? Or maybe a neutered male (a wether) might not smell as bad? Just a few ideas.

They breed 365 days a year. If no females are available they will ride other Billys. A cut goat (wether) does not grow huge horns once he is cut. It could be done with a horned female skin. It would take some time. Of course the females usually do not have the massive beards. They urinate on the beard and then swing their heads to dispense the "cologne". I tried it but it did not work for me. LOL. Blue Sky, Steve

  16. Wow; goats are nastier buggers than I thought. I love being a Capricorn; lol.
Do you know if the wethers exhibit the urine-flinging behavior? I would guess not, unless maybe they were gelded later in life.

My client has changed his mind and is going with something I already have available, thanks for all the info guys and gals...I learned something today so it's not a total loss.

  18. They can be castrated later in life which will eliminate the smell in about 6 months. Wethers can occasionally piss on themselves, but not with the sheer enthusiasum of an intact male. I've had billys in the past which will rot their skin off with urine burns and others who rarely piss at all.
