Just for fun. In your area, what do you consider to be a wide rack? Outside to outside, main beams only, not sticker points. I'm talking whitetail, no fenced area deer, just your average wild deer. I've read about deer with 30" and 36" in North American Whitetail magazine. But whether you do 50 or 250 a year, thro out that monster that was way way bigger than the rest and what do you call a wide rack for your area? just for fun.

Oh, forgot, in my area, 20 " is a good un.

  3. 19 to 20 inside. The largest I ever mounted was 28 inside

    buckmaster14 Sometimes you get lucky...

round here 18 inside is respectable. 20+ is considered ungodly wide.

  5. 19-20 is considered a boy dog around here but i have seen one that was 26 inside, not much of a score but an unreal spread.

We don't have any wt in California, so I guess it's not really from "my area" but this is a 31" buck killed on public land in Montana, just mounted him the other day.[IMG]

20 inches here in Armstrong county, PA We get some with good mass with the 20 inches but most are pencil thin if they reach the 20 inch mark.. Ones with better mass usually end up in 15 -16 inche range...

I've heard people argue both ways that they do and don't exist. To me this buck looked all wt other than abnormally wide and split g2's, but he did come from an area where wt and md are about 50/50. My wife shot a buck a few years ago in wy that had the rack and butt/tail of a wt and the body/face of a md, just as a basic observation as a non pro in that field it sure looked like a cross to me.
