Yellowish feet.....couldn't be parents where both have grey feet. One parent had to have yellow feet.

I can understand the thought of an imm euro but that does not explain the yellow feet??? Last I heard wigeon don't have yellow feet. So I wont disagree some of the birds lineage is Wigeon but the other half has me stumpped. Genes to throw the yellow feet may be Mallard, Shoveler, Gadwall but the rest of the bird does not exhibit other characteristics of these birds. Got any other pics? Maybe an above shot of teh bill and tail?

king eider, you are absolutely right, I did not recognize the feet but wigeons have grey-blue feet,

widgeon can have yellow feet. I have a pile of photos from magazines and in the cover of one of the Ducks Unlimited has a widgeon landing with yellow feet.

I too have seen wigoen with more greenish/yellowish feet than grey, both alive and dead. Fleshy parts on a dead bird can change quite quickly after death. I don't have a problem with the feet on the bird in question.

Boy this one has made the rounds. I've seen it on Facebook and half a dozen hunting sites. My guess was Eurasian widgeon by green winged teal. Also could be euro widg x gadWall which would explain the orange feet.
