No that is a Bridger #2 fully midfield. I run MB-550s to tho. Both r great traps.

 

I started using some MB550s a couple of years ago. Held off for a long time figuring they were too expensive. The old saying "you get what you pay for" certainly applies to this trap. Wish I would have started using them years ago.

Walnut Hollow - Big catch circle! Is that coyote in a cable?

 

Didnt get a pic but this was the easiest way we ever caught a coyote. We found an old roll of woven fence wire along a creekbank and put a deer rib cage in the
middle. , added a snare at each end and in 2 days had a big female. It was -18 the night we caught her.

 

trapfox - yep a cable catch here in Wisconsin. Its been a little frustrating for me this year on my property between the bitter cold, drifting snow and not as many yotes coming through and/or cooperating. Sunday night they were busy jumping over 2 of my sets. Only a few more days left now and then a long wait till next season.

 

One from yesterday. A yote had jumped this Cable set this past Sunday night so I fixed the gap with a broken off piece of Prairie stubble. No jumping this time through

 

Hey, just had a quick question, do you guys just release any young animals you get (If it's in a foothold?) And when I mean young I mean just born that spring.

 

To answer your question, Yes, depending on what it is and the damage that may have occurred, if any. Trapping is not a kill em all type of thing, at least for me.

 

I so wish more thought like you...I can not believe what some trappers are doing!!! I honestly think in NM, if trappers don't start releasing kittens and females the cat population is going to suffer even more! And some need to learn to put up fur!!! I know that in at least 3 area auctions there was lots of Rotten fur of all species..when a SW cat goes for $6 something is wrong...my hubby releases young and female cats when he can..I know sometimes you can't..as we battle trapping bans we need to be extra careful..for my husband trapping isn't something he does, it is who he IS...okay..off my soapbox now....let the bashing begin! .. Its just a live trap. We got the door open and his butt and tail came out but he didn't realize it could leave yet. I was pretty nervous with the mother and other kitten/young lion nearby in the brush.

 

Spring trapping along the creek. 10 beavers and 3 raccoons in five days. Two 50 pounders today.
