OK, this question is for the pros.... I have been tanning for quite a while now. I tanned my own personal bears and en elk that I have purchased off of here. what I am saying is that I have worked with larger furs including a couple of wolves. all set up with Dakota pro and not afraid to use it. my question is.... is there anything that I might be running into with this goat? I have been tanning with , Rittel's EZ-tan 100. will the hide yellow at all from the tanning process? I did two arctic fox that turned out fine but this goat is a little more expensive.. this is going to be a life-size mount just for the record. I know that some of the responses are going to be... just let the pros do it, and I am not against it at all, but I am a fanatic and I like tanning my own hides. if I did happen to send it out... any suggestions... I live in Ohio. Thanks, TROY.

if you have a good tanning system in place that works for you just be sure and keep your ph and salt levels right and you will have no problems .. I tan customer skins such as this for full mounts all the time ... I had much rather tan them my self than chance something going wrong at the tannery or ups or fedex losing the shipment ...by the way you will need to bleach that mt goat

40 percent peroxide with basic white powder just mix and rub it into the hair ..I have bleached after the pickle after the tan or after the animal is mounted don't think it really matters ...after bleaching use a cheap conditioner and rinse the thoughly or the hair won't fluff properly

Good advise on the bleaching. As for EZ-100 I use it a lot in my shop and the tan will not yellow or discolor the fur at all. Just make sure you use a good degreaser so you can get all that lanolin out.
