I have a personnel deer that I mounted a year ago and I noticed it has some minor drumming in one ear!! What would you guys recommend filling that gap with? Can I use a syringe and inject Masterblend in there? Anyone tried it before? Pros? Cons?

Thanks for the reply!! Did you inject with a syringe? This deer is going to be going to a comp next week wondering if it will dry in a week?

Yes .. it should if it isn't too thick...

i would soak the ear up first...simply filling in the void will just make the ear thick from the drumming...soak, then inject the glue

  7. I have used master blend for minor drumming with great results, good luck at the show.

George The older I get, the better I was.

Wet the hide like museum man suggests. Then why not make a linear slice in the skin. Lift one side and paint in 5 minute epoxy and hold till it heats up. Then lift the other side and repeat the step, making sure your slice closes up completely.

Thanks for the help guys!! I soaked it up last night for 30 minutes just enough to relax that skin and got it glued back down using hide paste. I carded last night with wire screening material and checked it this morning and it looks like it did just what I needed. George didnt think of using fast set epoxy!! Probably would have been the best bet with it going to the show next week. I use magic smooth and make sure I have a little slack in the ear so this doesnt happen, not sure what happened with this ear.

Thanks again for all that responded! Have a great weekend.
