Does anyone have a 7" plus wolverine skull, I'd love to see a pic held next to a tape measure.

6.75" by 4.5", almost as big as they get... very wide:

It may be hard to see but that degreasing chest has measurements in inches and cm along the side. The pic makes it look longer than 7" because it's taken at an angle.

  3. Yours would be way up there as for record size, but according to Safari club stats, they can get over 7" long.

At 14" total score, that could be something like 7 1/2" X 5 1/2". Now that would be an awesome skull to see.

That guy's a fool. I guarantee that if he does that long enough, he will lose a finger or worse!

Wild animals are ALWAYS wild. It is a very bad idea to make them seem cute and cuddly.

There's a reason accredited zoos have a policy for their large carnivores to never be in direct contact with zookeepers (barring sedation scenarios)... not sure if wolverines count on the large carnivore aspect or not but the most confusing part of that video has to be pointing a wolverine butt at people. They still have pretty strong smelling anal glands from my understanding.

Bugs N Bones, you should post your 7" wolverine. I know I'm not the only one who would be impressed with it! The crest on my 6.75" guy is pretty extreme, I can only imagine how impressive a 7" wolverine skull must look!

There are some stupid morons who do this with bears or tigers (I won't post examples as I don't want to make advertisement for this, but these are so called "animal trainers" or people eager to get publicity and fame). These individuals market themselves as having built "trust and friendship" with these
animals. That this can't be true is clear as these predators are solitary. Unfortunatitly, public and media too often are taken in by these people and do not question such treatment of animals. This leads to the animals showing abnormal behavior and kids with the potentially fatal believe that bears and other big predators are harmless and cuddly as pets. I hope that officials recognize that problem in the future and consequently ban facilities that display animals like this worldwide.

Regarding the topic: No, I don't have a wolverine skull this size. The only one I have is 6 inches long. It looks as if it is a female.

There are more videos of him raising those wolverines from babies, would love to see your 7"er bugs!

  10. Actually it would probably be more like 8" X 6" as 7 1/2" x 5 1/2" is 13 total. But I fully agree that must be quite the skull. I think 7" is a very large male and it does come up, anything above that is exceptional and rare. Although the record book is sorely lacking as first of all it doesn't except entries from trappers/trapped animals and most trappers toss the skulls and carcasses.
