Can anyone tell me what species of beetles are iridescent green and smaller than an adult dermested? I'm seeing more and more in my tank and I kill everyone I see. They don't seem to be effecting the beetles appetites at all. Any cause for worry?

prob a ham beetle, start another colony, kill all of them you see, youll notice your colony get smaller and smaller, with no larvae

Yes sounds like ham beetle. They eat the larvae of the dermestids.

Look close and see if the legs are reddish colored. If so, they are Red Legged Ham Beetles and they are bad news. Try to move your healthy beetles and larva. Hang some fly strips in the tank above the frass. Some may fly and get caught that way but hand picking is your best bet.
