Sometimes I think people bitch just to bitch. I'm no NTA proponent, but lets not let the truth get in the way of your good argument.

Since 2010, the NTA has been east of the Mississippi River less than it's been west.

2010 EAST Springfield, IL (100 miles east)
    2011 WEST Souix Falls, SD
    2012 WEST Rogers, Ar
2013 Baton Rouge, LA (divided by the river)
    2014 WEST Green Forrest, AR
2015 EAST Gattlinburg, TN (400 miles east)

As you mentioned, they have also been to TX. One could argue they haven't been east enough. States like PA and NY have more people, more taxidermists, and just as far to travel as the seven people living in AZ.

You guys know it really is worth it to travel all the way to Texas and take advantage of the TTAI convention or any one of our mini seminars. Membership with TTAI really does have its benefits.

    Cheers,

    Ben

Very interesting John J. People quit because they are fed up with the system (I'm guessing) then they come back and sometimes more than once??? Why would anyone respect them or their position???

Harry Whitehead I love to hunt Buffalos!!!!!

Well Rich, that's a bold statement to be guessing. The fact is we were ran off. While it is not earth shattering to me to lose your respect Fred and I would appreciate it if you could refrain from the negative comments directed at us personally. Quite simply it doesn't show much class and is totally uncalled for.

Ok I would like to ask a question.

Why is it that its the same people that snipe the NTA over and over again, and insist on coming in here and saying how theyll never join, and love to take pot shots at the NTA...but never do anything positive to help, or better yet, stop repeating themselves? Simply say it once...and move on. We get it, you wont be a member. Period.

It was a good run and now its done.

It is sad to see all of the negativity about the NTA posted here. I am not a current member but I was in the past. I hope it can come back and be a great organization and it seems like there are some people really trying and I can appreciate the efforts. I may not be a member now but I may again someday I am just following a long to see where it goes. But instead of the negativity and anonymous pot stirring why cant we just give the folks a chance to get it on track? I wish the NTA the best of luck in the future. Do like Bill said, quit griping about it if you're not going to help fix it.

When the bridge is out, more than one caution sign is a good thing, even when reconstruction is in progress.

You might as well ask, Why is it the same people who repeatedly say not to take pot shots, its all going to be ok, or the NTA is back?

    Optimism vs. pessimism.

I'm sure folks would love to join a competent national taxidermy association, but we haven't witnessed one in some time now and the trend has been ugly. If the NTA just demonstrated the good that it CAN achieve, it would get its due and the detractors would be leg less. Put TERF to legitimate use or promote taxidermists interests publicly, and there might be something to build a foundation of trust upon. A roller coaster of "new right leadership" has not helped one bit, and the focus on a convention doesn't distinguish the organization either.

So you get an anonymous email that says "I just put $50,000 in your trunk last night, use it as you will".

You delete it and don't go look in your trunk? Right. ::)

Ignoring all the other obvious misdirectional and intimidatory parts of your response, it is obvious to us all that if number 7 is true then number 8 cannot be true.

Obviously, I'm just playing with you, but you do seem to not have a solid understanding of that which you speak of. You should inquire before cutting oneself with ones own sword. You might draw blood and leave yourself with an booboo.

  17. That's exciting to see Michelle B. as president, if I read that correctly. I consider Michelle a friend and I am now hopeful that the NTA can go in a new direction. She is absolutely the right person for the job...rest assured..!

Sure I am just a STUPID MEMBER who can read and understand the by laws ...I suggest ALL members go here and download a copy before they get taken down or changed...

It's pretty easy to see you guys are playing fast and loose with the rules.

Well I would tend to agree with you Bob, but you have seen Mr. Smith Goes to Washington haven't you?

Senor Zorro. I did not realize that you were making a serious assertion to facts that are incorrect. But since you are, which may explain the username that you have chosen to use, please let me draw your, and everyone else's attention to Article VIII, Sections 8,9, & 10. Once you have read this and hopefully able to understand that in which you read, PLEASE come back here and explain to us how anyone is in violation of the Bylaws. If we are, surely we will make corrections an needed.

As for the new First Lady, I can attest that she has accomplished more in her first two weeks of service as President than any other before her. The one thing that has been most assuring and impressive so far is her willingness to tackle the hard jobs and make the tough decisions. Something that was lacking terribly in the former administration. Surely a breath of fresh air for those of us who serve to wake up every day and find a peaceful calm surrounding the NTA. Something we haven't seen or felt in a very long time. Finally, THIS board can focus on the membership instead of each other.

  20. Wow Bob, thank you for your vote of confidence. Yes we are most definitely friends but I assure you this was not a position I ever aspired to have. Only wanted to help in some way. But now that I am here, I will do the best of my ability.

Well Mr. Zorro, not sure which you are thinking by that statement. That I'm a hand picked patsy, someone's puppet, or you just think that I can be corrupted. I assure you neither of which will be the case. That's not who I am, I would step down and let the position for someone else before I would let that happen.
