I recently bought two baby pig skins of piglets that smothered after birth
I want to mount them, but have not done a pig before.
Is there a form, or do I have to make one? I've looked, but can't finds one. Can another animals form be used?
One more thing, well, two really.
do you take out the bone and flesh that is there from the two back toes on the foot down? Are the hoofs mounted with tissue in them, or do they have to be completely hollowed out?
ONE MORE question. I promise. do you turn baby pig ears, or do you inject them with preservative?
    I'de appreciate any help
    Thanks so much

Since nobody else responded to this, I think I might.

You might have to make a form. The major issue with it being just the skins for these little ones is that you don't have the bodies that were in them, which could've been used to help mold a form since these won't fit a standard size. You might have to carve them or make the wrapped kind, I haven't seen any foam forms that come that little for pigs in the magazines.

For the toes, do you mean the very last little toe-bone in the hooves? I think most people just leave that in. It gets pickled and preserved when the skin is wet-tanned. The rest of the bones and meat you do have to take out, but you do have to be careful because the skin is real thin.

If they are real little, you might get away with not turning them, as they will tan fully if thin enough. You don't need to inject preservative into them. But sometimes if they are bigger then that they'll need to be turned at least, because dried cartilage likes to curl, and you can put a in a piece of thin plastic or wire to keep them straight (since they are little, and there are no small earliners for them.)

One other thing, if you are going to mount these, always look at reference pictures of baby pigs. Plus don't expect to get them perfect on the first try, especially if you have never done taxidermy before. It's a learning process. :)
