Fish Taxidermy Tips?

FishNArt - it doesn't matter. I know I cleaned the tips after each usage - removing them and even soaking them in mineral spirits for a couple of days and it did not matter. I've even switched to BRAND NEW tips and it didn't matter. The clogs typically are BEFORE the nozzle. You have about a 50-50 chance you're going to toss each can if you don't use it all in one spraying...

These little things work great for cleaning the needle tip when paint starts to build up. I dip the brush in a tiny thimble of alcohol, and run it between the safety prongs.

 

LL do those bristles come off easily, the reason I ask is I've tried using pipe cleaners and the bristle come off and clog up the brush.

 

Well, they hold pretty good in-between my teeth hambone!

 

I've never seen any of the bristles come off. They are designed to take abuse, squeezing in and out of the tiny spaces between ones teeth. Even if a bristle did come off, gravity would keep it from getting tied up with your needle tip. The plastic which they are made of is not the wispy, ultra light, fibers that are in pipe cleaners.

 

Where I have had trouble with bristles coming off was while cleaning the inside of the brush.

 

These are a little short to clean very much of the inside of a air brush, but for what they can reach they work well for me. I usually use the assorted sized set that are specifically made for inside the barrel cleaning. Again, I have never had them come apart or loose any bristles. Compared to a pipe cleaner they are a little more robust. It would be nice if they had the length of a pipe cleaner so one could get them inside the whole airbrush.
