I hope this isn't inappropriate to post here, and if it is feel free to remove. I just wondered if anyone could help me in identifying the bird in this piece I have? It was given to me as a gift a few years ago and now I'm looking to sell but I have no idea what I'm atually selling.

Could be some type of wren, warbler, thrush or flycatcher. Must be a female which makes it tricky to ID from a photo. Size and location of habitat would be useful. Whatever it is it is not legal to own. Don't sell it.

It looks warbler-ish to me, but it's true: If you live in the US you cannot sell it. That's a federal law. In fact, it's doubtful if you can even possess it legally.

That's a very expensive bird. If you get caught with it without a permit or even worse trying to sell it you will find out how expensive it will be to you. I would get rid of it personally. Not worth the risk especially since you've posted it here on a public site.
