Full Mount Fox

Buy a whole one, keep the skinned carcass as reference.

 

I would buy one frozen whole if I were you. You can take your measurements directly off the carcass as mentioned above, and you can stick it in the freezer and use it as a guide should you get lost in the process. Instead of sending it out to get tanned by a tannery, you might also consider checking around locally with your taxidermists and see if anyone around wet tans their items in shop. I imagine someone will and you could pay them to wet tan it for you. It would save you alot of time, and if you flesh the hide prior, then it shouldn't cost much at all.

One thing I did for several years was to bring my salted skins to a local taxidermist and he would sent them out with his stuff. He would give me a bill for the tanning a percentage of the shipping.

 

you can visit Brian's FB page and he has a tone there. Skinning, form prep, finishing, etc...he may do it on another animal than what you are looking for but when it comes to cats, foxes and coyotes, they are pretty much all the same.

 

Get the whole frozen fox you get the pleasure of skinning it yourself that will help with anatomy and you will have a reference and tan it yourself. Or you can send it out
