mounted the feet off of a white rhino a client had hunted and made them into ice buckets for his bar. also did a shoulder mount but these were a challenge for the ice buckets. 003.JPG 001.JPG

Man that ice bucket has a big footprint! I'd love one of those for my African trophy room but it would take up a quarter of the dry sink space. Nice work!

How did you do the feet? I've done rhino feet, and they were a pain to get looking decent.

the ice bucket ones were around a foot tall. I did them the old school way since I needed to insert the metal ice buckets. I sewed up the cut and packed them with sand to the top to shape them. after dry I removed the sand and used two part foam poured into the bottom of the foot, then slid in the ice bucket insert. the foam filled the bottom and around the insert to stabilize it. result was a more lightweight foot with the weight of the bottom of the foot keeping it stable. i used to do the sand method on elephant feet and they always came out perfect. it really worked on these.

I also pack rhino and elephant feet with sand, but have never able to get them that nice. Good job.

Hey saw your pictures and wow those look amazing!! Wanted to pick your brain a bit since I have four to do. Was curious if you hand sewn them or used a machine. Like a upholstery sewing machine. Also where did you find your metal buckets you used for inserts. Sorry so many silly questions. Just have never done feet before and yours looked amazing. The ones I have just got back from the tannery and are wet tanned. I am sure I have a ton of other questions just drawing a blank. Any help would be much appreciated thanks.

    Thanks Rob
