"Battling Bucks"

    I had an old magazine out yesterday that i got before i started doing taxidermy and just recognized a few names from this website. Bill Yox...all that i can say is WOW. I have never seen a more realistic mount of two deer fighting.
    Boxie if you read this thread... I couldn't imagine what it would be like to find a 170" buck locked up like that. Awesome find.

    Thanks, that was nice of you to say. Those were found in water by a great guy named Bill Schoemaker, hes an avid antler hound. Hes actually found 2 or 3 sets of locks with his friend Lex. So we agreed it should remain wet. I used an art product used to texture canvas and board prior to painting it called...um...lol, yep, you got it, I cant think of it. Ill check for you, I just add water and comb it in and it dries that way. LiquiTex, thats it. Its in art stores. Use the gloss. I be sending you a reply to your PM, and I will send in it, a pic of a NICE locked set I did thats reallly really altered hard... ;)

    bill that is 1 of the best life like mounts of locked bucks i have seen...a TRUE ARTIST for sure...would love to see more of your work and locked bucks most of all
