The world show 2019 was once more all other than a flop...that being said!
For all who might be interested, I will post a pic of my winning entry in the next days, either here or in the "The month in fish pictures" section. Have a good one, everybody! All best!

Seems laughable that a month since the "world show" there are no photos of award winning entries nor any entries from the 2019 competition on the official website.

Its a shame its like that. It really holds it back. There should be pictures on the website, but there is not. I feel it takes away from the competitors and all the efforts they go through.

Cory Keep an eye on quality!

I can understand the "frustration" of those not able to attend. However, the unbelievable job it is to undertake a show of this magnitude should not be lost. I'm sure Larry, Ken and crew are going through pics right now and trying their best to make things available. This post alone shows how todays "get it now" society reacts when things don't go the way they think they should. Many of us who attended the show definitely took photos of the fish that were there. I personally do not feel it is my right to post these pics from another taxidermist. If they feel they would like to post their pics, then they can do that in due time. I have no idea how they would feel about someone else posting their work on this site. As far as having to buy the "zine", no, you do not have to; we are still America and you can do as you please. But for those who have never been to a world show, once again the undertaking, coordinating and everything that happens behind the scenes is massive. So "patience is a virtue" still rings true. The mounts that won will still be great once the photos are posted.

Very well said Cory! Thank you in my name and....I'm sure in many others, too!
As the chairman of the "European Taxidermy Championships" I know what it means to organise a show in this dimension and quality! And for all who think that the work for the organisers is done and finished by the end of the competition: Sorry guys, then you really have no clue! Sometimes it would be so nice to get a compliment, a little recognition for the huge work and success (...often even based on voluntarily work) instead of being criticised all the time!! Let that sink in for a moment. Thank you! All best to everyone, Matthias

BTW: I posted pics of my WTC fish mount already a longer time ago, as a contribution to keep this great platform here alive.

I mean no desrepect to all the hard work that is put into the show. I just think it would be cool if they put photos of the best in world pieces on the website for the general public to see instead of only the magazine. That’s all.

Come on Cory, "get it now" society. The show ended on May 4th.

I can take a pic and post on taxidermy.net in a matter of seconds.

https://www.taxidermy.net/wtc/ hasn't even listed the winners.

    I'm sorry, that seems laughable.

Speaking for myself, I'm not begging for pictures of mounts, I don't need them to go on. I am interested in seeing them if they are made available. I'd be intersted in knowing the winners to pass on my congratulations if I so choose. That is where this all started, with Dan looking for "pictures or anything else related" on taxidermy.net, a domain shared by WTC.

To Fahrni, many congratulations. From your pictures, a very nice mount as always from you, and thank you for posting your pictures to help this platform along. I hope you can see that it is hard for those on this platform who didn't attend the "world show" to provide the compliments the organizers likely deserve for many things, because the organizers have to this point shared nothing for us to recognize the huge work and success that you experienced first hand.

I don't think Lance is far off. I'd add, think of all the competitors whose work gets 0 exposure. I think it's a shame for them and the promotion of taxidermy.

I hope there are complications that I haven't imagined that will answer the mail on all of this. I don't even mind the almost certain raking over the coals I'll receive. I'd rather it be my misunderstanding.

As it stands, this "championships" seems more like a "private show" than a "world show."

    @ Lance.G and 1fish2fish
I can understand your point concerning the pictures. But as far as I remember back (...and that's along time!) the WTC pics from the side of the organisers never have been published elsewhere than in the magazine. Published pictures on other channels always came from the competitor's side. Correct me if I'm wrong.
    @1fishfish
Thanks a lot for the personal compliment which I truly appreciate! As I mentioned above I can understand your "frustration" in regard of pictures, but what I don't really can cope with, is that you, truly a bit disrespectfully, reduce the biggest, best and most prestigious taxidermy show on that planet to a kind of "privat club". Maybe it would be good for you to attend and enjoy the thrilling atmosphere "live", including all the benefits coming along, instead of complaining here that way. Are you aware of the immense advantage you guys have, that this contest always happens at your end? Can you imagine what it means for strangers, intercontinental people e.g. from Europe to show up and attend, when it comes to costs, transport issues, paperwork for customs and Fish&Wildlife etc. etc. It would be great to meet you in person at one of the next editions, I'm looking forward to this. I wish you a lot of success and happy hours.

    Well said!!!
I help with photography and misc. other tasks and found myself without pictures for myself this time. It happens! Ken works for months editing and making the best presentations of our art- not just a snap and post pics kind of deal. There are thousands of photos to go through. Thousands. The instant gratification mentality isn’t realistic here. There is so much that goes into the presentation of the world show.
    I’m glad you spoke up!!
    Have a fantastic day!

Thats what confuses me. You can see NTA pictures years back on Kent’s corner and the NTA website. IV only seen world show pictures in the magazine.

Swissfish, congratulations on your accomplishment. It is amazing what you do.
