Hi all. I've been doing mammals a few years now but really want to try my hand at reptiles but I am stuggling to find any videos and guides on how to do it and how it differs to mammals.

If anyone can give me any links I would be very grateful. I've also been told that pale skins like albino burms can't be mounted due to the skin being too thin and therefore transparent?

I have three short tutorials on this link.

Also, that is not true about amel/albino snakes.

Hi Kerby, thanks so much! I'm going to sit and look through them now, been on youtube but there's so little actually on it...

As for the albinos, several people told me that they either go transparent or end up looking 'dirty or grubby'. How do you avoid this? I've got an albino burn in the freezer and would love to do it justice.

The skin is exactly the same. When doing reptiles the greens, yellows, reds, and orange colors will be affected after drying. Has nothing to do about being albino. Those colors will have to be replaced after drying. Paints, pan pastels, etc.

Ah so you paint up all your reptiles? Also I notice many people staplethe skin when putting to the firm. Do you remove the staples after the hide paste and skin has dried?

Thanks for answering. I'm in the UK and honestly see reptile taxidermy so little and I'm really eager to give it a shot. Your guides have been amazing to read through

I've said that but I've bought the 'mounting a large snake' dvd, but going to take a while to get here. If anyone has any tips, advice or tutorials I would love to hear from people. I have a 15ft Burmese python that was 26 years old and really want to do her justice.
