This is still a great site for information. Some of the problems that have kept me off as much is the search doesn't seem to work like it used to. Also, for awhile--don't know if it's still that way--there were a couple of very liberal people at least one of whom wasn't even a taxidermist who would comment on nearly every post and try to turn it into a political discussion.
I do fb, but it's a lot different. Most of the taxidermy pages on fb are filled with posts by people who just want congratulations on mediocre work. There are sometimes posts of very sub-par work and lots of replies of "great work," and if you offer anything constructive you get kicked off like Rick said.
As far as the photos go, they're still there. Just add an extension to chrome that allows you to view them. I use photobucket embeded fix.

You really want to know why this site is dying.........passivity! The most deadly emotion known to man! It brought down the Roman empire and it will bring us down as well! When a people no longer care whether Bondo is or is not an adhesive or whether DP is better than tanning or McKenzie's shipping rates suck! When grown adults can not beotch slap one another over whether or not mechanical broad heads are worse than fixed blades, you know the end is near my friends! May God have mercy on us all!!!

LOL. My company First Sergeant always said, "A bitching Marine is a happy Marine." Bitching relieves tension and gets it off your chest.

I wonder how many people dropped out when the new format came on?
People complain that politics should be removed, that’s what current events page is about. If you don’t like politics don’t go to that page. Seems simple to me.

Change is hard and we all have a natural resistance to it. It did take a bit to get used to the new format but now it is almost like it has always been this way. I doubt the site lost more than a couple percent of it members, if that many. If nothing else it gave people something to biotch about for a while!

Dave, in case you missed it, that's what this post is about. LOTS of people chose not to come to this page or others. I assure you, in the netherworld of cyberspace, there's enough politics involved in the world to make the most hardened politico sick to his stomach. I have no gripe with politics THAT EFFECT TAXIDERMY, but coming on here and venting your spleen about politics in general is bullspit. I feel the same way about the "Wanted" and "For Sale". They're protected from anyone saying anything negative about them, yet the clutter up my opening page where I HAVE to look at them. If we went back to Ken's ORIGINAL concept of having "button" to click on subject matter, I'd never have to see another political post nor wanted nor for sale.

That’s true. We all hate change. I guess I don’t know what the current events page is for? I do think everyone’s name should be displayed. Should the site be for taxidermists only?
I remember some years ago Stefan Savides posted in the for sale section. Someone came back with the remark that started out “hey buddy if your going to sell something here post pictures”. Had to chuckle.
I imagine it will change again. All these free things like photo bucket eventually want money.

If it cost as little as $5.00 a year it would get rid of most of the scammers. They won't pay it and would move onto other sites where it is free.

Seems that the same questions are asked time and time again on the FB sites. There is no catalog of information that can be researched. I do peruse them occasionally, and when someone genuinely needs help I offer it.
