Home Studio Setup

    Just starting to get serious here and would greatly appreciate any and all advice on airbrush studio setup. Lookin to customize my garage. Anybody had to deal with humidity removal in garage studio in the the South?

    Just use GOOD exhaust fans. And I also made a nice downdraft table, to use when I'm grinding, etc. Vent everything outside really good. And the greatest thing you can do, is install FANTASTIC lighting. I'm in Fort Worth, and while the humidity is tough around here, I have a good AC unit in the studio that keeps everything very tolerable.

    I live in Northeast Tennessee and the humidity here is pretty bad during the summer. A well insulated garage and an air conditioner does it for me.

    Thanks! In Tampa FL this is the showstopper. Trying to design either a dehumidifier and or AC for my garage plus exhaust. Any other studio setups blank hangers..would also be appreciated.

    Thanks, how was your exhaust designed? Also the downdraft table sounds cool.

    I have an exhaust fan but I only use it when I am painting or drying birds after a mineral spririts bath. It doesn't take that much of air conditioning out of my shop (its was a four car garage until I converted it for my electronics repair service. After I closed the shop it became my taxidermy hobby shop).

    I use 2 attic ventilators for over 30 years, side by side in the wall with a plywood sides and top over my paint table to box in the fumes and send them straight outside immediately. Very strong suction. No a/c where I paint, but do open 2 doors (1 garage door) and a large fan to cause a draft as well as additional suction. As far as humidity goes, I just place the glossed fish into my air conditioned room for 15-20 minutes and no problems so far. Hopes this helps.
