Posing As A Taxidermist

    Periodically throughout the past year or so I get a call from a kid asking what I charge to mount various animals. I'm a little slow so it took me about the 3rd call to realize what was happening. He always called with a story of how he killed or caught it. Well all he was doing was setting his price list by mine and taking in stuff to mount that he had no clue about. It all came to a head last week when he called and cheesed up that he had overloaded his ass and had roughly 45 deer and numerous fish and bobcat to mount. Basically wanted to know would I mount them for him, But let him take the credit for the mounts. I told him I didn't do that and suggested he call all his customers and have them come pick it up to bring to me or another taxidermist.

    HMMM!! Just had a guy this week call wanting to bring me 5 deer he had at another taxidermist who couldnt do them! Wonder if its the same guy? I turned them down by the way!

    all he has to do is hang out a shingle calling himself a taxidermist. find reputable wholesaler and...wa-laa....he is in business.

    I would have been ecstatic on mounting all that work at my price. Yep let him claim it cause by the time I did have he would be closing shop cause of no money to pay to have the work done lol

    It's sad but there's a lot of so called "taxidermist " that take work that they dont know how to do .

    I know a couple that watch one video and think they know it all and can mount anything. They don't have to worry about repeat business!
