    A Good Client's BIG Buck!
Mr. Jeremy Semelsberger once again nailed a buck worthy of preservation. For this big guy, I was asked if I could match a trail cam photo Jeremy had of this buck. I excitedly told him "Hell yeah, man!" In this case, I was able to utilize one of Research Mannikins newer 'Head Up' headforms ... in this case the WT-8576HU RT - 7¾" x 21½" x 22''. One of the neat things was rotating a pair of 32ᵐᵐ Joe Meder Dark Brown "Liquid Lens" Glass Eyes. They rotate very nicely!

This first photo shows the trail cam photo side by side with the mounted head.

The same photo in all it's full size glory!

As I was sitting across the room from the big buck, it dawned on me, the resemblance in pose, to a mount I did for the World Show back in 1989. Back then, there were no "Head Up" forms on the market. I used a - at the time - newer Buckeye Mannikins, Sweep Right Turn headform. I needed to lift the head up, as well as resculpt the upper lip to the Flehmen pose ... sculpting the upper gum palate, while using real front lower incisors, and the tip of a Mohr Deer tongue. Of course since then, Joe Meder sculpted a similar form for the market, replete with a pre-cast Flehmen nose and mouth section. Would I use one? No ... I'm too old school for that. I've done several others for clients the same way I did mine.

I’m embarrassed to show mine after all these nice mounts above! But I got one done this month, so I’ll show it.
