Huge Sheds, Need Help With Cape Size

    Need help with cape size for 270” , 5-3/4” bases sheds. What size cape would be good for these size sheds.

    You should post a pic! Especially if they’re wild sheds. You’re gonna need the biggest cape you can find

    You’ll definitely want to get a decent size cape typical to the area where you found the sheds. A big Texas or southern deer would be in the 22” range, a deer from Iowa, Illinois or Canada for instance would be 24” plus. The trick will be finding a cape with 5 3/4” bases may be a challenge. You will likely have to do some alteration to the cape to help it fit those bases and still look natural.

    Try test fitting cape to antlers. If not big enough gradually trim the skin around antler pedicals until they fit. I wouldn't trim more than 1/8" at a time. Hope this makes sense.
