Paint On Eyes

Nothing, just scrape off using a toothpick or ex acto knife

 

Play dough, though I usually don’t use anything.

 

I use nothing most the time , after just wet paper towel with windex and toothpick , but paint a little elmers glue on it let dry, paint and peel off

 

We use Gary Bowen's Eye Protect. It's a paint on latex. We don't put it on the entire eye, just short of the edge, and scrape what little paint gets on the glass.

 

I use a q-tip with a small amount of laquer thinner, then a scalpel to scrape around the edges. Finally, I have a really short hair soft brush I dip in thinner and go around the edges. Always take you deer outside and look at the eyes. It's embarrassing to be loading it in a customers car and see crud on the eye. when customers get home, a deer is usually rested on its backboard until it is hung. Anything irregular on the eye will stick out like a sore thumb.

 

If you are afraid to use a metal instrument that might possibly scratch the eye, Kraig's suggestion of using a tooth pick works well.

 

I use Modge Podge. I brush it on with tiny brush. Only takes a few minutes to dry then your good to go on painting. I use a scapel blade to peel it off. You can use something else if your not comfortable using metal. It comes off so much better than the eye protect the supply companies sale. After using the scapel to get most of it off a use a q-tip and windex.

On game heads I don't seem to get much paint on the eyes, so I just remove the little that does get on there with a q-tip and a stiff, china bristle brush both dipped lightly in thinner. On fish though, I cover the eyes with oil based clay, which is cheap, goes on easy and also peels off easily too.

 

I take an ice cream stick ( after i eat the ice cream first ) sand one end to a point and spray water or windex on the stick and rub it off.
