I am in need of replacement whiskers for a newly mounted male leopard. Any help, suggestions or thoughts would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Fantastic for replacement whiskers on many species of animals are the stripped feather quills used in fly tying. They are the tapered quill of chicken feathers. They come in a variety of natural colors and dyed as well. They are very cheap, strong and the perfect size for whisker replacement. They are tapered to the tip just like a real whisker. They are my go to when called for. Pix shows how they look on the Leopard head. 17894-Leopard-1 (1).jpg

there is a way to use thin clear plastic bristles and heat over a candle and strech them out to taper the ends...never tried it but read it

Nutria whiskers are very similar. They may be a bit thinner than leopard , but are close.

George The older I get, the better I was.

I sanded down 50 pound monofilament.

I saw leader material at the fly fishing section that was about 4’ long and it was standing up in a display like wire except for some of the tip.

Perfect replacement Goose! Glad it worked out for you. If time is money, sanding down clear mono is a waist of time and will look just like sanded down mono, and the natural taper needed would make it even more time consuming.
